In the hush before the dawn,
I hear your courage breathing—
soft as the morning wind
that lifts a tattered flag to light.
You carried youth on weary shoulders,
dreams tucked between the rations,
letters folded near your heart
like prayers that refused to fade.
The world spun on while you stood still—
sand in your teeth,
rain in your eyes,
home a word that tasted like promise.
Yet you came back bearing both silence and fire,
teaching us that freedom’s price
is not only written in blood—
but in the quiet strength of those
who remember what it cost.
Today, the sky bows in gratitude.
Every whisper of wind,
every child’s laughter,
every heartbeat that beats in peace—
is the echo of the brave.
