If you want to see the brave,
look at the ones who rise
from the ashes of what was done to them—
the ones who choose to loosen the chains
others tried to lock around their hearts.
If you want to witness the heroic,
look at those who lift love
out of the ruins of cruelty,
who answer hatred
with something gentler,
something stronger,
something the world can’t crush.
For courage is not loud.
It is quiet hands opening
where the world expects them to close.
It is choosing compassion
after being shown none.
It is daring to keep a soft heart
in a life that tried to harden it.
The bravest souls forgive.
The heroic ones still love.
And the rarest of all
are those who do both—
and keep walking forward
with light in their arms.
