The Moon’s Confidant
Beneath the velvet sky of night,
Where stars ignite their fleeting light,
I sit, a humble, quiet soul,
The moon my keeper, soft and whole.
She whispers tales of days long past,
Of shadows deep and spells she cast,
Her silver gaze, a tender glow,
Knows secrets only she could know.
“I’ve watched the tides, the hearts they break,
The silent tears, the dreams that wake.
I’ve held the hopes of lovers lost,
And seen the joys that came with cost.”
Her voice, a song, both sweet and low,
Unveils the truths the dark must show.
“I hold no judgment, only care,
For every soul, I’ve always been there.”
I ask her then, “What makes you stay,
To light our paths when we betray?”
She smiles, a curve of gentle grace,
“The night, too, needs a friend’s embrace.”
Beneath her gaze, I feel alive,
A fleeting bond where stars survive.
And though her glow begins to wane,
Her solace lingers, soothes my pain.
For in her light, I’ve found a part,
A confidant to hold my heart.
The moon and I, a kindred pair,
Eternal truths our souls now share.
