THE ONES WHO BEHAVE LIKE HARM

Creator,
please protect me from the ones I love
who never learned how to love me back.
Guard my heart from their harm,
their manipulation,
their indifference dressed as care.

Place a shield between my softness
and their brokenness.
Let my spirit stay open—
but not exposed.
Let my heart stay tender—
but not targetable.

And if anyone I love comes toward me
with hands that wound instead of hands that hold,
please redirect them…
far from my peace,
far from my path,
far from the parts of me I worked so hard to rebuild.

Protect me,
Creator,
from those
who enjoy my vulnerability
but refuse my humanity.
Protect me from those
who love my presence
but not my well-being.

I am your child.
Please keep me safe
from anyone who calls themselves love
but behaves like harm.
