Respect
has never come from the shine of a title
or the size of a paycheck.
It comes from the quiet things—
the way a person shows up
when no applause is waiting,
the way they hold others with dignity
simply because it’s the right thing to do.
I’ve seen people with everything
act like they’re made of nothing,
and people with almost nothing
carry the kind of integrity
you can feel from across the room.
Status means very little.
Character means everything.
Because the truest measure of a soul
is how they treat the ones
the world tries to look past.
And in my eyes—
the janitor,
the cashier,
the nurse pulling double shifts,
the tired mother holding her family together—
they stand just as tall
as any CEO on any top floor.
Respect isn’t earned by power.
It’s earned by presence,
by heart,
by humanity.
And every human being
deserves that.
No exceptions.
Ever.
